Tulip Chaudhury has worked in the Australian Public Service for over 19 years in a range of policy areas.

In addition to her policy expertise, Tulip’s experience as a former international student in the US, and as a teacher of Bangla at Canberra’s Bangla Language and Cultural School provide valuable background for her international student quality assurance responsibilities.

Key priorities for Tulip's area are the Transnational Quality Strategy, for students studying offshore, and the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 which protects international student visa holders in Australia.

Mr Scott J. Evans
Manager, Multilateral, Middle East, South and South East Asia Branch
Scott Evans has worked for the Australian Government for nine years and returned to AEI in August 2008 following the consolidation of the international employment and education functions that stemmed from the establishment of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

Scott previously worked in AEI on the implementation of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, prior to working at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and in the International Relations area of the former Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

Scott's broad multilateral and bilateral international relations experience equips him to oversee the development of the government’s multilateral education, employment and training relationships, including Free Trade Agreements. Scott's branch focuses specifically on bilateral relationships with key countries in South Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East and also manages AEI’s work on qualification and professional recognition systems.

Ms Linda Laker
Manager, International Strategy Branch
Linda Laker first joined AEI in 2002 after 15 years with various Australian Government departments.

As manager of the International Quality Branch, Linda has overseen the implementation of the Transnational Quality Strategy, which addresses quality assurance of Australian courses delivered offshore. She has also managed extensive consultations with government and sectors to develop policy developments, which resulted in the enhancement of the ESOS National Code in 2007.

At AEI, Di manages education and training relationships with key countries in North Asia, the Americas and Europe and with the European Commission.
