Ms Michelle Allan Counsellor (Education) Australian Embassy Tokyo Post jurisdiction: Japan
Michelle Allan has worked with the Queensland Government for nine years in trade facilitation and export marketing, including five years focused on international education. |

Michelle has held a senior management position in the Queensland Education and Training International initiative since its inception. Her experience in senior management is demonstrated in her significant track record of achievement in high level leadership and management for the Queensland Government across a range of disciplines, pertinent to marketing Australian international education. She holds a Bachelor's of Arts (Double Major in Japanese) and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Queensland.
Michelle has extensive experience in market project management and has represented the Queensland Government’s international education and training sector at a broad range of events and seminars with very senior representatives from Australian and overseas governments. Michelle has worked closely with the international network including DFAT, Austrade and AEI. Most recently her key focus has been on providing strategic advice on the development, coordination and implementation of science, research and innovation policy programs for the Queensland Government.
Michelle brings to her position as the Counsellor, Japan, a wealth of experience and understanding of Japan, its culture and language. She worked in Japan for five years in education and training, local government and the luxury hotel industry. |
